Introducing the ATLAS 4.0: The Next-Generation Helmet from Ruroc

Ruroc launches the ATLAS 4.0 – the latest evolution of its iconic ATLAS helmet range – Ruroc’s most advanced full-face motorcycle helmet ever made.

Grabbing the attention of riders across the globe, the ATLAS helmet is known for its aggressive style, bold artwork and utmost protection. Now, the ATLAS 4.0 delivers a significant upgrade in rider comfort with a fully re-engineered interior, aerodynamic performance that not only makes it more stable, but also improves acoustic performance by 57%, and the industry’s highest level of on-road protection in accordance with the new ECE 22.06 safety standards.

Ruroc’s Head of Engineering, James Campbell explains, “The Atlas 4.0 is without question a significant new upgrade to the ATLAS platform, both for us at Ruroc and the market as a whole. This is one of the very first helmets available that meets the new stringent ECE 22.06 standards. Not only does it meet these new standards, but we’re proud to confirm that it has exceeded them by over 20% too, thanks in no small part to the collaboration with our partners at RHEON.”

RHEON’s application in the ATLAS 4.0 is a significant milestone in helmet design and safety, with the innovative reactive polymer technology integrated seamlessly into the headlining of the ATLAS 4.0. Born from decades of research, RHEON’s technology provides targeted protection against impact and rotational forces, offering supreme protection to Ruroc riders.

On top of offering ultimate safety, Ruroc’s engineers and designers have worked tirelessly both inside and outside of the ATLAS 4.0. The new 3-part multi-density EPS structure has increased impact attenuation performance, and the shell has been aerodynamically simplified to reduce turbulence and enhance stability, so riders can ride for longer without strain or tension.

Temperature control has been improved thanks to an innovative, new ventilation system with the addition of a top vent switch. Riders wearing the ATLAS 4.0 can now effectively tune their thermal comfort in any climate: By opening and closing the vents, riders can alter their average head temperature by 15% (of the steady state) with a maximum temperature change of up to 30%.

The interior of the ATLAS 4.0 has been completely re-engineered with plush cheek pads that feature a multi-layered and multi-density bespoke construction with premium moisture-wicking fabrics and an enclosed zip to allow riders to tailor the level of padding to a truly personal fit. This also allows for the removal of the internal foam so riders can hand-wash the cheek pads, providing ultimate hygiene.

Campbell concluded, “The ATLAS 4.0 is the result of thousands of hours of research, development and extensive testing alongside facilities such as VIAS Institute and Silverstone Engineering hub. In addition to these developments, we’re constantly taking feedback on-board from riders the world-over – ATLAS 4.0 is without question a result of this collaboration and something we are very proud of.”

Like previous ATLAS models, the new 4.0 also offers full integration with Ruroc’s Shockwave Bluetooth audio system. Shockwave seamlessly integrates into ATLAS 4.0, connecting to the world through the new CHAIN App – the next level in rider communication.

The ATLAS 4.0 range will be available from February 18, 2022, and riders can choose from a total of 18 different paint and graphic options.

Introducing RAGNAROK; the end of the world for gods and men. With intricate artwork inspired by mythological beasts, the ATLAS 4.0 is available in four different Ragnarok designs; Fenrir, Jormungandr, Surtr and Serpent.

The CARBON range showcases the ATLAS’ T300 space-grade Carbon Fibre shell with a Raw Carbon (matte), Liquid Carbon (gloss) and Nebula Carbon (iridescent) design.

The PAINT series introduces five bold, plain paint colours to stand out from the crowd, available in Crimson red, Ultramarine blue, Volt fluorescent yellow, Commander army green and Mercury silver. The helmet also comes in two BASE colour options; Core matte black and Ghost gloss white for those who prefer a more understated look.

Last but certainly not least, the MISFIT range has four iconic designs to express riders’ individuality; including the Outrun with retro ‘80s vibes, the Street King regal-meets-renegade design, the El Cobre inspired by the traditional ‘Dia de los Muertos’ skull art, and finally, the returning and bestselling official DC licensed ‘The Joker’ helmet is carried over from the ATLAS 3.0 range.

The helmet will be available exclusively online at www.ruroc.com, starting from £375 for plain colours, and £425 for graphic options.
